Founded in 1980, Kohav Hashahar is home to about 280 families. The town overlooks the Moab Mountains and the Jordan Valley. There are several local manufacturing businesses in the town, including agriculture, carpentry and an antenna factory, in addition to a dental clinic. Ahavat Chaim yeshiva high school in Kohav Hashahar offers a special program for students with learning disabilities.

Worth Visiting: Kubat a-Najma, site of the ruins of a town from the first Temple period; Saboneto – a natural soap making factory; Kohav Mountain lookout.
